Introducing AURORA+ Nightglow Pigments

Kaleido Chemie Pvt. Ltd. — manufacturer of Musclerox® pigments since 2018 — is expanding its range with AURORA+, a nightglow (glow-in- the-dark) pigment line built for safety, industrial, and consumer applications worldwide.

Who We Are

Musclerox is a renowned manufacturer of Fluorescent Pigments, Ultramarine Blues/Violet, and Inorganic Pigments including Iron Oxides, Bismuth Vanadate, Manganese & Zinc Ferrite, and Micaceous Iron Oxide. The product range serves Coatings, Plastics, Inks, Textiles, Rubber, Abrasives, Stationery, Paper Coatings, Artist Colours, Colour Cosmetics, Detergent, Sports Goods, PVC Cloth/Faux Leather, and Construction industries — manufactured at a dedicated plant and technology center in Uttar Pradesh, with additional toll manufacturing in India and China, and ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 14001:2015 certification.

Our Key Advantage

32 years of pigment experience across organic, inorganic, dayglow, nightglow, metal powders, sparkles, and pearlescents — with AURORA+ nightglow fully customizable on granular size, initial brightness, and afterglow time.

The AURORA+ Product Range

1. Ultra-High Brightness Series

Higher initial brightness and longer continuous luminous time than traditional long-lasting luminous powder — engineered for safety applications that need to stay visible for hours after a light source goes out. In emergency conditions like a power outage, this grade can stay lit for 10-12 hours, making it suited to underground mines, factories and warehouses, high-rise evacuation routes, and subways/parking garages.

2. Fast-Charging Series (YG / YGH / YGQ / YGZ)

Charges in as little as 1-20 seconds and is sensitive to low light sources such as phone light, indoor LEDs, and shadows — with charging speed and afterglow time adjustable per grade:

  • YGH — fast absorption, high initial brightness, long afterglow (8-10 hours) — suited to everyday products in weakly lit environments (furniture, tableware, art painting).
  • YGQ — faster absorption and higher brightness, afterglow of only a few minutes — for products needing quick light but not sustained glow (e.g. luminous water toys).
  • YGZ — fastest absorption, highest initial brightness, afterglow of only tens of seconds — usable as a substitute for Zinc Sulfide where instant illumination matters more than duration (e.g. luminous train tracks).

3. Ultra-Fine Series

Available in Yellow-green and Blue-green, with particle sizes from roughly 18-60μm depending on grade, suited to spraying, screen printing, gravure, flexo, offset printing, and plastic extrusion/drawing. Applications include super-thin coatings, fine-nozzle spraying (0.1-0.2mm), fine cables/silk threads, and high-precision printing. An R&D-stage variant targets D50 2-3μm / Dmax 9μm for even finer applications.

4. Performance Series (YGH-L)

A fast-charging, lower-cost option positioned between AURORA+ regular pigment and standard performance grade on luminosity — balancing brightness against price.

5. Ongoing R&D

A sky-blue fast-charging series is complete; work in progress includes new colors, further ultra-fine powder development, glow powder without rare earth elements, and black glow powder — aimed at high-end coatings, inks, packaging, and precision printing (digital, flexo, gravure, offset).

Suggested Applications

  • Government & public infrastructure: fire bureaus, mines, tunnels, hospitals, schools, metro rail
  • Global brands: apparel, drinkware, toys, and consumer goods using nightglow for design and function (comparable use cases seen with Disney, Starbucks, Nike, Lego, and NASA-branded products)

How to Use

AURORA+ is physically mixed with the medium like a regular dye or pigment, following three principles:

  • Use a transparent, colorless, pH 6-8 medium
  • Water-based mediums (paint, ink, resin) need a water-proof formulation
  • Avoid iron tools during processing — glass or ceramic tools are a suitable alternative

Market Note

The glow-in-the-dark pigment market currently has no single national standard, with many suppliers and strong customer interest — meaning grade selection (brightness, charge speed, afterglow, particle size) is key to matching the right AURORA+ variant to an application.
